What we expect form our 5th grade students:
a. Follow the classroom rules.
b. Organizational skills and becoming more responsible for your learning will be stressed.
c. You may receive an occasional warning if your are not following directions the first few days, but we feel you are old enough to remember the rules and follow them.
d. When lining up in the halls you must be silent, face the front, and keep your hands to yourself.
e. You may not leave the room unless everything is in order at the end of the day. Also, your teacher must be notified.
f. Raise your hand before you speak.
g. Remember your manners, "Please", "Thank you," "Excuse me," and "May I," will go a long way in our class.
h. Never lie. If you do something wrong, admit your mistake. It is very important for us to be able to have trust.
Homework
All assignments are written on the board. It is the student's responsibility to copy them down completely on their assignment sheet. All content explored during class will also be written on the board and assignment sheets. Students should never list "nothing" or "none."
Assignment Sheets
All students are required to use a weekly assignment sheet which is collected Monday mornings. A parent's/guardian's/adult's signature is required nightly. This helps keep us all on the same page.
